What is Flushing?

Combination truck flushing, also known as hydro jetting, is one of the most common types of work we do. Sewer lines carry everything from toilet flushed material, water and debris from sinks, and water discharge from showers. Over time, these lines can build up with sludge or grease from oils drained in sinks. These can cause backups and make it hard for any material to pass through pipe systems. When this occurs, the blockages must be pushed through to keep the pipe systems running. Our hydrovac trucks at McRae’s Environmental Services are outfitted with the most technologically advanced flushing equipment. Using high-pressure water to clear blockages in pipe systems is a far superior approach to cleaning and clearing blocked pipes than conventional flushing.

Conventional Type of Blockage Removal

Conventional snake-type flushing uses a long wire coil with a corkscrew-like tip that is hand fed into a line. Augers can also be used by inserting them into the pipe and turning the handle clockwise as you slowly push simultaneously. This can be time-consuming and exhausting if the blockage is far or built up. Overflowing can also become an issue causing the pipe system to be blocked entirely, making it harder to clear. These problems can become detrimental if the blockage is not pushed through and removed in time.

Benefits of Flushing

Our combination trucks are outfitted with proprietary high-speed/high-pressure hydro flushing nozzles that can clear blockages within minutes. We also carry hundreds of feet of high-pressure hose reinforced to reach the blockages. Hydro-flushing sewer and storm systems are also ways to maintain the sewer systems so blockages don’t occur regularly. We carry one of the thickest flushing hoses in the industry for more complicated jobs, making us far superior for the technical work associated with flushing. The benefits of flushing are substantial.
